The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration’s (TIGTA) Office of Audit is looking to hire talented individuals in various locations across the country. The Office of Personnel Management’s Pathways Program (Recent Graduates Programs) will be used to identify and select candidates for these positions.
About the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration TIGTA was established to provide independent oversight of Internal Revenue Service activities and is organizationally placed within the Department of the Treasury, but is independent of the Department and all other Treasury offices. TIGTA’s focus is devoted entirely to oversight of the nation’s tax administration system.
About the Office of Audit The Office of Audit identifies opportunities to improve the administration of the nation’s tax laws by conducting comprehensive, independent performance and financial audits of IRS programs, operations, and activities to:
• assess efficiency, economy, effectiveness and program accomplishments; • ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and, • prevent, detect, and deter fraud, waste, and abuse.
About the Recent Graduate’s Program
The Recent Graduates Program is for individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions (or who are within nine months of receiving a degree) and seek a dynamic, career development program with training and mentorship. To be eligible, applicants must apply within two years of degree completion (except for veterans precluded from doing so due to their military service obligation, who will have up to six years to apply).
